There are amny different kinds of highs but I will be referring to marijuana. Smoking marijuana is much different than being drunk. It is almost impossible to explain because you sense everything from a different perspective while you are high. IN fact, many first time users will freak out because they try to be sober and that just makes it very scary. Alcohol on the other hand makes you physically feel different, it makes you feel more confident in yourself and your abilities. OF course there are bad effects like nausea, dehydration, and loss of motor skills. Alcohol is worse because it is addicting and causes way more deaths than marijuana. It is true that there is not one reported death caused by marijuana while there are hundreds of thousands caused by alcohol and cigarettes. As far as other things smoked like methamphetamine, heroin, opium, crack-cocaine (pure cocaine), PCP, and a long list of hallucinogenics, they can be far more dangerous than alcohol depending on the dose.

Marijuana is not BAD. Alcohol is BAD. Hard drugs, like crack, heroin, & PCP, (all can be smoked) is BAD.

Marijuana used properly and responsively is completely harmless, other drugs like heroin, meth, coke, and meds are worst then alcohol. It all matters on the person, if your responsible it would be fine to try things like shrooms and acid. Just know your limits!

Legally, if you're incapacitated you can't drive and will go to jail, no matter what you call it. Semantically, "high" refers to being artificially happy from too much alcohol (or other), a little off in locomotive skills, but not incapacitated. "Drunk", on the other hand, means totally wasted, possibly comatose, vomiting, and otherwise non-functional.

alcohol and marijuana are both depressants. both of them make you act drunk. you get high on uppers like amphetamines. alcohol is worse and does more damage to you than smoking.
