Levothyroxine side effects?

What side effects would you experience if you are percribed too much levothyroxine?

  • I mean if you are only over percribed a bit more than you should have. i know you experience heart problems, palpertations ect ect. if you have alot over the amount your supposed to have, but if your only over a bit what can a person experience? and is it always weight loss?

  • Answer:

No. Too much synthroid can cause a funny feeling in the throat, almost like an irritation, and coughing. You also feel funny behind the eyes like they are jumping. Waaayyyy too much can cause palpitations and sweating, etc. I know when my hubby's levels get too high, he says his eyes feel terrible, he has a headache, he feels like he is constantly choking or has something stuck in his throat. Weight loss is not the most common symptom of too much synthroid. In fact you would feel so terrible before you lost any weight that you would cut back on the dosage. In some people the first symptom is actually swollen eyes and facial features.
