A lot of people want to legalize "medical marijuana" but when you think about it people who smoke pot are very?

Hey, I don't know who you are, but shut-up. If people wanna smoke pot, let them ******* smoke pot. I don't see how it can possibly hurt YOU; it has nothing to do with you. Just let people live their damn lives the way they want to.

You lie. Prescription drugs kill thousands of Americans every year. Marijuana has never killed anybody. The government has been lying about marijuana for 75 years and you are parroting their lies. The fact is, marijuana should be legalized for all adults above the age of 21, just like alcohol.

the 'gateway' drug theory is total bogus. If marijuana didn't exist you would use the exact same argument with cocaine, or another drug. Besides shouldn't it be up to the individual what he/she wants in his/her body? If you need the gov't to tell you what's bad and what isn't than you are not very smart to begin with.

He is a bit of logic for you. Where do you buy illegal pot from? A DRUG dealer. What does a drug dealer do? He sells DRUGS! Not just pot but all the rest too. And since pot isn't addictive, he wants you to keep coming back so he tries to get you to buy the addictive stuff. Make sense? Now if you made pot legal and sold it in shops LEGALLY there wouldn't be the constant contact with drug dealers that are pushing you to try the harder stuff right? So the reason it is a supposed gateway drug is because of where it is purchased and from who it it purchased. But in reality, Alcohol is the true gateway drug. If you ask ANYONE that does drugs if they tried booze first they will almost certainly say yes. I started drinking at 13 and didn't try pot until I was 16. I never liked either so I quit everything including caffeine 26 years ago.

Oh look! That alcoholic drank a lot of orange juice when he was a kid! That must mean that orange juice will eventually lead to alcohol abuse! Lets make it illegal! Oh wait, there is more. He drank water before he drank orange juice, maybe that means that water led to orange juice, which led to alcohol abuse, so therefore, lets make water illegal because it is a gateway to alcohol! I am not trying to be rude, but that is how the very flawed "gateway theory" works. Also, why would you want marijuana to remain illegal for medical patients? Is that not equally as selfish? The legitimacy of marijuana being a harmful herb in the first place is very weak, so why should it even be illegal if it is relatively harmless to the user and public?

Marijuana is not a gateway drug. Any association is political and social - since marijuana is an illegal drug, the easiest way to get it is from a dealer pushing harder drugs. If it were sold in legal stores, that wouldnt be the case. Marijuana is not chemically addictive, and does not leave the user chasing the dragon, so to speak. It can be habit forming, the way watching tv, playing video games, or stalking old friends on facebook (or any activity that gives the person pleasure) can be habit forming, but its NOT chemically addictive I do not understand the opinions you and others hold. Why is it better to use pain meds like vicodin and oxy that leave the patient far less coherrent, are far more likely to cause a chemical addiction, and are drastically more dangerous if used recreationally? Isnt the better answer a medication that gives a balance of pain relief and coherence? Isnt the better answer something that is safe if it is used the wrong way?
