Clear liquid diet for colonoscopy prep...is it okay to drink Langers apple orange pineapple?

  • am only a clear liquid diet. I will read you the listed things I can only drink/eat Beverages Soft drinks- Orange,ginger ale, cola, sprite,7-up Gatorade. strained fruit juices with OUT pulp...apple juice,white grape juice, lemonade Water,Tea or coffee [no milk or non dairy creamer] fat free, low sodium chicken or beef broth Desserts.....hard candies,jello-lemon,lime, or orange..NO fruit toppings Popsicles,Italian ice but No sherbert or fruit bars! So pretty much any clear liquid besides the color RED or PURPLE I have a ton of Langers apple orange pineapple & apple kiwi strawberry? Would that be okay to drink? I don't really have much money to go buy diff types of juice. Thanks

    I am not studying medicine; but, I have been through this 5 times. The answer is if it contains red dye you can't have it. I was bummed out about that because I wanted root beer and that contains red dye 41.

It should be okay if you are talking about natural orange, apple, and kiwi juice, if you can't it red color fruits, i will not recommend you the "Strawberry" juice, just try to take more apple juice over all others, do not take much orange, lemon, and pineapple juice because their acid properties will give you gas, and i guess you are susceptible to nausea and gas that is why they have you in clear liquid only right?

I have NEVER seen cola listed on that "clear diet" lists. Wow... Well, can you read through that Langers like apple juice, or 7-up? I would use that as a guideline. You are only doing this for an evening - go get a bottle of juice and dilute it with water - it's not like you have to restock the pantry, save the Langers for another night. Good Luck with your procedure.
