Why is Vitamin D significant?

Nausea from the vitamin D im taking but why ?

  • I have like constent nausea. not throwing up just nausea.. but at night the past couple days it gets better. im on vitamin D supplements.. 50,000 units ever other week. it was every week but dr changed it cause i told him about my nasuea.. so it must be from vitamin D. what should i do normal range 30-70 mine is 16 a month ago.. when will my results be normal?

  • Answer:

wow, 50,000 is an incredibly large amount....... 20,00 IU daily over an extended period of time can produce toxic effects in adults....... dosages of over 1,800IU daily may cause hypervitaminosis D in children...... signs of excess are unusual thirst, sore eyes, itching skin, vomiting, diarrhoea, urinary urgency, abnormal calcium deposits in blood vessel walls, liver, lungs, kidney and stomach.... daily doses most often taken are 400 - 1,000 IU ..... perhaps it would be more prudent to increase your consumption of vitamin D rich foods and to get more safe sun exposure .... eat more fresh salmon, tuna and sardines ....... find a good quality fish liver oil to take ...... research the ingredients contained in the vitamin D supplement you are taking and find out what impact they have on the human system ..... empower yourself with knowledge ... knowledge is power and freedom you know...... and doctors aren't gods. peace baby ♥

I guess it depends on how much you're taking at one time. I find a little goes a long way - I actually feel like I've been out in the sun after taking it. If you're out in the sun with an intensity of 10 times normal, you'll feel nauseous that way to - trust me. Just drop down to a dose you can tolerate well. I found 4000 was too much for me, so I'm down to 2000 without a problem.

Its because it is....you can't put the equivalent of 42 hours worth of full sunshine into a single pill without making you feel "something". Thats one heck of a whallop. The only way you are going to know when its normal is when the results get back. Since you had the doctor on the phone to change the dose since you posted this last, you should have asked him the rest....
