How to write a leave of absence letter to my college.?

• I am planning on taking a leave of absence after the upcoming quarter at my school. Would like to write a letter to my school informing them of what I am planning to do so there will not be any sort of confusion or what not. Intentions are to return in the Fall but I must stop now to return to work and work in my profession. Can someone please draft a really nice, professional LOA letter for me explaining this? Would really help me and appreciate it greatly.

  I've done the same during my graduate studies and had to write a leave of absence. The copy isn't available on this computer anymore but I remember a pre-prepared form with a box to be filled with explanations of the reasons and plans about the leave of absence. For a separate letter, I would start with an introduction along the lines of "I am writing this leave of absence for your consideration to excuse me from [enter academic year & semester info here] due to reasons I explain below." OR: "I am writing this letter for your consideration to grant me with a leave of absence for [enter academic year & semester info here] due to reasons I explain below." Continue with something along the lines of "Should you choose to grant it, I plan to return in [enter academic year & semester info here] and complete my studies in [enter academic year & semester info here] For the second paragraph, explain briefly (3 sentences) why you need to take this leave of absence. Health issues? Financial problems? Family crisis? Pressing need to build professional experience before graduation? Whichever it is, emphasize that 1) this was an unforeseeable folding of events for you, something unanticipated and 2) you would not be able to continue with your studies simultaneously as you tackle with the situation. For conclusion, write 1-2 sentences to reiterate your request and your intention to return at a certain semester to study towards your degree. Writing precisely with clear dates is the key to be taken seriously with your request.
