Why do people publicly post pictures?

I hear of girls that use Instagram and Tumblr to publicly post pictures for anybody to see. Then, they complain about "creepers." For example, this one girl in my class showed me how one guy "liked" all her pictures on instagram and that his profile is filled with Porn. He is also an adult, which means to me that he is a pedophile. This other girl posts pictures on tumblr and has over 900 followers because everyone thinks she is pretty. I mean, it's fine to enjoy compliments. But isn't it disturbing to know that ANYBODY could be viewing your pictures? Facebook is different, as you can edit your privacy so that only your friends can view pictures. But people sometimes make it public so everyone can see their bikini pics or something. I don't think people listened to those cyber-safe things that were taught in elementary school -__- Your thoughts?

Its called vanity........we all have some of it, but then there are those idiots whose blood runs red with vanity until its too late. There stupid if you ask me.

A better question would be, why do they complain about "creepers" AFTER they've publicly posted pictures of themselves on a site with no privacy settings?
