Interview tips / What kind of questions are asked at an interview?
-
I am going to be interviewed by the principal of a private, Catholic high school I want to go to. I am really nervous and stressed about it. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. What are some ways I could calm myself down for the interview? What kind of questions will be asked? What do I do if I get stuck on a question? How do I make a good impression? This is the first time I have ever been interviewed and I am SO freaked out. I really need some good tips - This interview could make or break my chances! Thanks to anyone who will help! xx All answers are appreciated!

Answer:
The last thing you need to be, when giving an interview is to be nervous. The interviewer gets a glimpse of your personality with your interview, so you need to be at your best. And since your interview is on such a low scale, you realllyyy dont need to stress about it. It'll be general stuff mostly and over before you know it! But heres some tips anyways ;P Firstly, be positive. Think of the best and stop worrying. Nobody likes a negative person anyways. Secondly, be mentally prepared for the questions. Be aware of your surroundings and catch up on current affairs. Always be confident in the answers you give, even if you give the wrong answer, or dont know the answer to the question, confidence helps you sail over the trouble. Hesitation is unattractive too and be quirky enough to save yourself from questions you dont know the answers to. And since this is a highschool interview, they'll probably ask questions about you, your background, your ambition and your selection of subjects, so theres nothing you wont know :) Thirdly,be punctual and be presentable. You dont wont to go too overboard with the way you dress. You should just be dressed properly and neatly and be very punctual. Being late on an interview just shows how you aren't serious. Get everything ready for the night before and remember to organize yourself. And lastly, be confident and let your body language show it. People with the better personality, usually get selected in interviews than others who have learnt every answer to every question out there. Remember, you're you! Interviewers like uniqueness. Oh and always remember to keep a smile on :) So, you really dont need all this for a HS interview, but I couldnt help myself :P So good luck :D

Doodler9 has some good advice. Don't be too early either. 5 minutes is good enough, even if you sit in your car for a few minutes. I would always be annoyed by interviewees that arrived too early... as if I was waiting with baited breath for them and had nothing else to do. I always felt like they didn't respect my time instead of thinking they were anxious to show they were interested. Good luck.

You should be yourself, take a great big breath, look the principal in the eyes and smile. You already know what you are doing and you already know how to answer any question they may have, just be honest. Good luck, you'll be great!

just relax probably be asked about what subjects you like etc be enthusiastic about what you say! like how much you like them, and want to go to this school sound engaged in what you are saying, focussed etc smile and stuff! GOOD LUCK!!!! don't panic though ;)

Relax. Do not try to make an impression. Be yourself. Let them form an opinion about you. Sit comfortably. Look the questioner in the eye. LISTEN to the question carefully. Reply thoughtfully. If you do not know, say so. Nobody expects you to know everything. But you should know what you think you now. Do not be argumentative. Educate yourself about this school, the organization that runs it, profile of students; school's performance; controversies if any. If you can talk to a former student or teacher or administrator, it will be of help. All the best. Be yourself. Your performance will automatically improve if you do not try too hard. Everyone likes honest persons who know where they stand. Interview Board members ar experienced people. If you are try to bluff your way, you will be caught. If you tell them this is me, they may take you. But you must put it across that you are always ready to learn and improve. Do not worry at all. If you get the job, good. Even if you do not, experience will be useful.
