EBay Gift Card Question?

A question for the people who've used an Ebay gift card:?

Say I want to transfer the money from my Ebay giftcard to my paypal account. -If I were to buy something that was say, a dollar or less on Ebay, would the money go to my paypal account? -When this money is on my paypal account, am I now free to use the money however I'd like, or am I still restricted to using it on Ebay? Thanks. :)

"once you use your gift card on ebay.com, any remaining balance is automatically attached to your PayPal account. You can use the remainder for future purchases on eBay." http://giftcard.ebay.com/ns/faq.html dont see how they can restrict your remaining balance to ebay-only purchases. maybe ask the forums: http://forums.ebay.com.au/forum/Ask-A-Member/500000003
