How to ask for a reference letter?
-
I did a volunteer job this past weekend. I want to email the team leader to ask him for a reference letter. I'm not sure how to ask. I feel kinda bad, there are 871 volunteers in total and I'm pretty sure at least half of them are emailing him today to ask for a reference letter. How would you ask?

Answer:
How about an email that says: Dear __________ Thank you for the opportunity to spend time volunteering with your organization. I enjoyed my time and learned a great deal from you and your staff. It was a very rewarding experiece that I would like to use to help me with future job pursuits. Could you please write and sign a reference letter that would give potential employers an understanding of my work ethic and quality? Thank you for your time and for the great volunteer experince. Kind regards, Your Name
