What's the best answer for why you left a previous job?

Whats the best reason to say I left my left job?

  • I left it because I was having back problems. Plus I was in a abusive relationship that was iriatting it. I was doing housekeeping. .I have interviews this week what should be the best reason to say I left?

  • Answer:

Well it depends on the jobs you are going for? If they are in "Housekeeping" as your previous one, are you sure that your back trouble will not be a barrier to you doing the job? Also what if you are asked for a reference from your previous employer? What might they say was the reason you gave for leaving? You should be aware that obtaining employment by making deceptive statements is a criminal offense and can lead to dismissal besides any potential criminal charges being brought against you or even civil proceedings from the employer to recoup the salary it has paid you as you would have obtained a pecuniary advantage by deception - like lying on your CV (Resume in the USA). Just a few thoughts you should consider, I suggest.

Like the previous person who answered this question said, I would just say you left for personal reasons. I noticed on a lot of job applications that if you say you quit and they want a reason, you can select the option personal reasons. I don't think saying you left for personal reasons would be a problem in an interview.

You do not have to tell them the truth. Just tell them that it was for personal reasons.

Never say anything bad about the job, just say i feel that this was a good job and everything and i had a fun time on it but i feel that other jobs can help me peruse my future dreams better.\ Just don't ever say anything bad about it because other jobs will see that on your record and not like it.

If you were having back problems, that is a legitimate reason. But make sure you tell them you no longer have them and it won't interfere with your performance if you get hired.

Back problems seems like the most reasonable.

Well, lying wont help you in the end. But If you really are having back problems then that one.
