How can I eat when I am disgusted by food?

My uncle coughs on the food when he cooks?

  • I think he has dry cough or what ever you call it, but I am very disgusted.. He doesnt cover his mouth(which should be with his arm) and he doesn't look away or turn his head away from the food and this is so nasty… He's a cheif, and he cooks very well, but I NEVER eat when he cooks because he coughs all over the damn place and doesn't cover his mouth. How do I tell him to stop being nasty with out being rude? he looks DIRECTLY at the cook and coughs. and thats nasty. If he does that, it makes me wonder what he does when he has to sneeze, and if he even washes his hands. One nasty thing makes you think other nasty things are being done as well-- thats so damn nasty. Now I made this bowl of food and I put one chop stick full of rice in my mouth and its good but I can't eat it! Because I KNOW he coughed on it!

Been there done that, i think people in their 40+ dont take personal hygene very seriously, they think its a joke. You got to do what I did and say it straight up, tell him its unacceptable, his knowledge of hygene is obviously very poor and you have to educate him. Tell him you cant see germs with the naked eye and he must wash his hands etc to get rid off them. Maybe bust a joke to start of with, everytime he coughs in the food, just say 'thanks alot for passing me the germs!' if it doesnt work your going to have to say it straight up!
