What are some good table games for kids?

I have to give presentations on historic games.. what should I say?

  • So I got a job giving a presentation on historic games like the jacobs ladder, the ball & cup, graces, the hoop & stick, etc. i have a little table with these games and kids can try them out. I do this at a historic village (kind of like williamsburg but a lot smaller.) and it has a general store and blacksmith and whatnot. Anyway, my problem is that I have never given tours before and when people come over to my table, I don't know how to start them out. I can't just be like "Hi! This is a jacobs latter.. it does this and that and blah blah" I need an introduction type thing. Ya know? Anyone know what I should say? 10 points for best answer (:

  • Answer:

Start with how games are now in relation. NOW we have electronics, games are less active (with respect to Wii) but back in the day they were blahblah blah and more blah blah blah and outside. For example, blah blahblah. and blahblahblah. You blahblahblah to blahblah back in the 1800s blahblah made out of wood blahblah ball catch blahblah. Here I'll show you blah blah. Or perhaps ask them a question first. Like what they're interested in. SO if they say "What's that wooden doo-hickey?" you can start from there.
