Where To Buy Christian Gifts?

My collegues bought me Christmas gifts (today) and I didn't get them anything. Will it look bad?

  • Ugh, I don't know what happened to my question but it got deleted and here it is again. I am working for two ladies in a hospital but its voluntary/unpaid. Today they gave me Christmas gifts. One of them was not in office so she left it for me on the desk. When I went in the other one gave me her gift, and I said "you shouldn't have". And then I said "I feel silly... I didn't get you anything". I am very worried that might have come across as rude. I was polite but the words might have come across rude. Then when I left I thanked her again for the gift and said to have a good Christmas. I don't usually buy Christmas gifts for everyone I know as I don't come from a Christian background but should I have given them something? I was thinking about giving them something each once I leave as a thank you gift for allowing me to volunteer with them. I'm only there till I find a job. Plus I don't have much money right now and was planning to get them something from my first wage.

  • Answer:

il say it again then. it wont look too bad as long as you thank them enough. if you buy them something back now then it might look like your doing it coz u have to and its more like a chore but if you thank them alot and be nice to them then it wont look bad

You did nothing wrong. You thanked them and that's enough. Forget it

Don't worry about it. They know you are a volunteer, and may not be able to afford gifts for everyone. Bring cookies to share with everyone, occasionally. Be a fun co-worker in other ways.

Don't worry about it. Most people give because they like to and not necessarily for anything in return; however, because I like to give too and money does get funny during these times, try to make something to give if you can. I like giving homemade cookies dressed in a coffee mug. I get the coffee mugs from a thrift store and wrap them up with colored cellophane and have a couple of cookies inside. I have got nothing but compliments.

if you aren't getting paid to work there, then i'm sure they are aware that you dont have the funds to buy them gifts. if you feel obligated, bring them something homemade (cookes, etc..) or a card. dont stress yourself on a gift. this is the season of GIVING, so i'm sure they aren't expecting something in return.

they probaly didnt think anything of it. Older working people do that type if stuff automatically, they don't expect anything in return.

If you have markers, colored pencils or any other kind of writing things that are colored, and colored paper, you could make them a homemade card. I do this for all the people that I can because of my low income. Lots of people appreciate those homemade cards because they see how much time and effort and heart you have put into them. So don't be afraid to make homemade cards this year. By the way, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I think you feel a little sheepish but try not to. They got a good feeling. It feels good to give. That's a nice gift. They should be thanking you :) If you want to feel good too...give them a dainty little thank you note addressed to them both. Thank them for being mentors and friends.Tell them they made your heart shine with their gifts. It's really the best thing you can do and it's the right thing, too :)

to tell ya the truth...........
