What to do when you broke up with your man?

If a man is stranded 30 miles from home because his car broke down & asks you for help what what you do if...?

  • It was the 6th of the month & you had your LAST $3 to your NAME & wouldn't get paid until the next month? Would you give him your ONLY $3 & help him out or just leave him be? This guy randomly knocked on my door, telling me his situation, & he was CRYING. He said he only had $6 to his name & needed $32 to take the bus home to Dallas. He said his feet hurt & he asked to use my bathroom. He said he was a UPS man & was gonna pay me later in the week. He offered his cell phone & $450 teeth grillz as collateral. My friend was like, "Hurry up & get your mace in case he rapes us or something!" Because the man was also trying to hit on BOTH of us & he asked to chat, but I was sleepy. I opened the door because I thought it was the maintenance man, checking up on my bathroom leak. It was a sigh of relief when he left without hurting me or her. I felt like I did a good deed to help him out, but it was also risk-taking. My friend's coworker called me stupid later on for giving that guy my last $3.

  • Answer:

GOD must have certainly moved you. There are many things that you could do. You chose to be helpful to a stranded person who was in need. If you felt moved to give someone your last, then so be it. I gather that you don't usually give anyone your last money. I enjoy corresponding with you and I certainly don't expect to "hear" anything going awry with you. Being sympathetic with another person is quite alright. Hey, you don't need to go get injured and killed trying to help someone. I am indeed glad that all is well with you. You may get the $3.00 back. Even if you don't, the Lord has seen your mind and soul. You will be rewarded accordingly. Peace to you and your friend who was with you. I wish you well.

You probably won't see your $3 again, but who knows, what I am more concerned about is that you LET A STRANGE MAN INTO YOUR HOUSE.....That is NUTS....dont EVER EVER do anything like that again, you are lucky to be alive

I would just get on my cell phone and call him a tow truck. Then leave knowing I did a good deed.

you lucked out!!!!!! next time you might not be so lucky dont ever let a stranger in your home even if you have a friend there with you! think about it he had a cell phone he could of easily called the police or a family member!

grandma_birdy65

Call the local Police if his problem is real they will help him out. If out think of who you may have saved.

Didn't your mommy teach you not to open the door to strangers? I would have handed him a cell phone and let him use it in the front yard.

rule number one:NEVER let a man inside your house, esp.if there isn't a male relative in the house with you! no,i wouldn't give him my last $3,i mean if you had more, you'd probably had given him that too!he hit on both of you and wanted to chat?!!he could have been a rapist, and you were so lucky that he didn't do anything to you both! next time, use your common sense and NEVER open the door and let a strange man in your house!you don't have a whole lot of money, heck, you're in a worst shape than he is!!but you fell for his story!!if it's the truth, then you helped him,but if it's a lie, you're out of $3!! edit:this is meant not as an insult,i was just worried!sorry, for yelling!

I would rang someone like a tow truck . The sad thing these people are to scared to help just in case you get hurt or murdered. That really saddens me, it usually gives me great joy to help people. Isn't it sad that this world people don't trust each other.

In the interest of personal safety, you ignore him. If he has a cell phone, he can have a friend/family member wire him money. If he is employed, he can get a bank loan. If he wants to use your toilet, there are plenty of fast food places around where he can use their restroom (or since he's a guy, he can wee all over the streets). You should never let anyone into your home. Not to scare you, but now some complete stranger knows the layout of your home and what furnishings you have - now he knows if it's worth breaking in. I know your heart was in the right place, but you can't save everyone. There are many other places available for him to get help. Sure, this guy was having a bad night. But you shouldn't have given him entry into your house or your last $3. I live downtown, do you have any idea how many people need bus tickets, plane tickets, cab fare, bus fare, parking money, food money, cigarettes and change? As much as you want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, it doesn't help anyone. You can donate to a charity if you want to make a difference. But that $3 you gave the guy, could have easily gone towards drugs, it's sad but true (I'm not a cynic, I've lived downtown in some sketchy areas...) You are freaking lucky that your friend was with you! Honestly, if you're waiting for a service repair man, you can ask for ID. NEVER let someone into your house. The repair man will make it known that he is a repair man, or your land lord will give you notification that a repair man will be up to your place on a specific date. You need to think about the legitimacy of his story, there are too many strange things. He says he only has $6 to his name...but he has 450$ in grills and a cell phone. If he is employed, he can get a payday loan... there are some things that just don't seem right. Check all your items. Look in your bathroom and make sure everything is untouched (could have easily been looking for drugs in your medicine cabinet)...

He gave you really expensive teeth grills and his cell phone for 3 $ ??? That sounds interesting. I have no idea what i would do, but 3 dollars isn't going to help him. Hopefully he'll pay you a measly 3 dollars back but if he doesn't it isn't the end of the world, after all, you still have a cell phone and 450$ worth of teeth. Sounds good to me.
