It saved approximately 100,000 lives on our part, and since we were the victor, we were the ones to make the call. But, be assured, before the bomb was dropped, there were prayers said on that sad day for everyone, as no one really wanted this to happen, but, since your Emperor wouldnt back down from his war with us, we had no choice... The current situation is a multilateral problem, since everyone in your area of the World is affected. We are not the only ones negotiating with North Korea because we WANT all to be involved and not everyone thinking we are the Imperial Power and OUR WORD IS LAW.... In the first place, the first developers of nuclear energy weren't all American, they were German. Would you rather have had Hitler develop the A-Bomb? They had already developed rocket propelled warheads, the V1 and V2, as well as planes, Messerschmidt 300 Komet. Nuclear technology was going to be developed further sooner or later. Actually, there was a proposal for an invasion of Japan near the end of WWII, but it was passed on for the conclusion that it would have cost more than a million lives combined. As for the victims in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I'm sorry for them and their families but....war is hell. How responsible for the government actions that caused 911 were the people in the towers? Actually, the people in the towers were more responsible for their government's actions then the Japanese were because in America WE put those people in office. The Japanese government was not elected. They did what they were told by the Emperor. I have heard it proposed by sociologists, veterans and others that the Oriental ideology and Shinto religion, especially at the time in the '40s, would have most likely called for them, the Japanese, to fight until the end...period, possibly to the point where Japan would not exist today. My father, who served in the Pacific during WWII, and other vets I've talked to told me that the horrific, cruel, sadistic and torturous way the Japanese treated the POW's they captured negated any pity or consolation for the A-bomb. They were known to kill their POW's simply for target practice. One japanese soldier told my father after their capture in Northern China that he was really tired because he had cut off nearly 200 heads that day, all Chinese civilians. They used to strip POW's and have them stand over a bamboo cut down to a spear, just up into their anus, then they would wager on how long the prisoner can stand up, and stay alive. There's an awful lot that isn't put in the school books, isn't there, from both sides I'm sure? Besides, America isn't the one we need to keep our eyes on.....

You came to this conclusion all by yourself? Germany and Japan were aggressor nations with nothing but world domination in their evil, ignorant minds. They had ideas born from a stupid sense of nationalism that made them the best above the rest and in their warped mentality, their destiny was to rule over everyone else. Japan has had a history of invading countries and killing and raping in the worst ways you could imagine. When the first bomb dropped it had been determined that this was the quickest and safest way to put an end to the war with Japan and the casualties to the people of Japan would have been much worse had an all invasion happened using conventional weapons. That they were hard headed pigs is atested to by the fact that a second bomb had to be dropped with a warning that Tokyo would be next in order to get them to stop fighting.
