Why do people take the bible so literally?

Why do people try to take the Judaism out of the Bible?

  • It has always boggled my mind as to why people try to take the Jew outta the bible. It is a jewish book. It has jewish authors. Christians stemmed from jews. If you argue Christian theology people will always automatically say "no that don't apply to us" or "no thats a jewish thing." I can't even tell you how many people get mad when i pronounce things in the proper hebrew tongue.

  • Answer:

Christians would be foolish to try to deny the Jewishness of the Bible. Gentiles are wrong to boast in anyway against the Jews, physical or spiritual Jews. But what is a Jew? Well, according to the Bible "...he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." Romans 2: 28, 29 We know that "those that are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham." Galatians 3: 7 As far as aplication goes, the Bible says that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." Peter mentions that we are wise to give heed onto the Old Testament as to a light that shines in a dark place. We are wise to study the Law, the Prophets and the Writings, for they testify of our Saviour. Does that mean that we are bound to the Old Testament law for righteousness? No, this is VERY clear from scripture. The law does not save us nor can save us, it condemns us. "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them." Galatians 3: 10. The law requires perfection and there is not a single one of us who is perfect, save the One who has "...redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3: 13, 14 We need the Old Testament and I think Christians are foolish to set it aside as un-applicable as they often do. But if someone trusts in the law for righteousness they are only trusting in what condemns. As far as Judaism is concerned, Judaism is not contained in the Bible until we run into the Pharisees who had allowed their ignorance of God's righteousness to get the best of them and they, being ignorant of His righteousness went about to establish their own righteousness and thus did not submit themselves to the righteousness of God. "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth." Romans 10: 4 Modern Judaism denies that God curently requires blood for forgivness of sins (many do not even believe that they are sinners), which is not something taught in the Bible.

You can't take the Jewish culture out of Christianity; however, there is no need to keep Judaic practice in Christianity; id. est., no need for new Christian converts to get circumcised, et cetera, and start following Jewish ceremonial law before they can become Christian.

You can take a Jew out of the Bible, but you can't take the Bible out of a Jew. And Jesus was a Jew! No matter how you look at it, Jesus did keep the Torah, and advocated that it should be kept. Matthew 5:17. I think it is Paul who took "Judaism out of the Bible" if anyone did. When the religion spread to Gentiles, it was just too much to ask them to keep the whole Torah of which they were unfamiliar. If you want a lot of converts to your religion, it is probably not a good idea to make them get circumcised and such things!

It has always also boggled my mind. It also boggles that people will tell Jews how to interpret Jewish scriptures - the very same scriptures Jews have been reading and analyzing for century upon century.

You call yourself a rev but you don't know the difference between a Jew and a Israelite. The bible is not a Jewish book or is it about the Jews. It a book from Yahweh our Elohim the holy one of Israel. Second Judaism is a new and different religion from the bible, it is a corruption of the bible, that should not be heard from anyone who wants salvation. No once is it mention in the scriptures in any translation, It a phony. Many believe Judaism was the religion of the children of Yisrael but Yah said to Moses come up to the mount and receive the laws and commandments. He did not say lets get Judaism or a oral law he said let get the commandments the yah has written on stone. NO other source was given.

Israel split and became the House of Judah and the House of Israel. House of Judah was Judah, Levi, and most of Benjamin. House of Israel the other ten tribes to the North. Eventually all were taken into captivity. VERY NAUGHTY FIGS Jew in the Hebrew (yehudiy) means “of the tribe of Judah”. Jew in the Greek (Ioudaios) means “of the tribe of Judah or a resident of Judea”. Judah is only one tribe of Israel (Jacob). During and after the Babylonian captivity, many infiltrated the Levitical priesthood or said they were of Judah. Ezra on the trip back to Jerusalem wrote. NONE OF THE SONS OF LEVI Ezra 8:15 And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi. This is also illustrated in the parable, the two baskets of figs (Jer.24:1-10). One basket of good figs and one basket of naughty figs. So by the time Christ came along things were very rotten. PLAY ACTORS Matt.23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to His disciples, Matt.23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: The scribes and Pharisees sit in authority, they have taken over. Then Christ tells them to observe (inwardly), for they say and do not. Later Christ calls them hypocrites. Matt.23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. In the Greek (hupokrites) means “an actor, stage player”. They are playing a role. So many Biblically illiterates slander Judah, when it was the basket of naughty figs. In Revelation Christ tells the church of Smyrna and Philadelphia. WHICH SAY THEY ARE JEWS Rev.2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Rev.3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. True Israel is Great Britain and the United States. If one studies the migrations of the northern ten tribes they lead to Europe, Great Britain, and United States. Some migrated over the Caucasus mountains into Europe and were called caucasians. Some were called saxons (I saacs sons). Ever heard of anglo saxons.

Among the centuries the Christians have raised a prejudice against the Jew doe to the belief that them has killed Jesus. Christians, Jews and Musslim have the same roots and basicaly the same belief, just the Christians put Jesus as the son of God. In fact, Jesus WAS a Jew, son of a jewish mother! If we take Judaism out of the bible -- the Church has comdemned in the beggining, with a heresy called "Arianism" (remember Hitler?) -- we wil ahve to take Jesus too, and with no Jesus there is no Christianity!

Perhaps it is because of the stigma of titles. Old and New testaments. Could they be thinking of "Old" as not up to date. New as "reformed?" True Jehovah selected and raised up profets to do his will, and many wrote about what was going on in their day. A few actually lived at the same time, and their efforts overlapped. Different views from differant vantage points. It is a shame so many are so outspoken about things they think they know, but don't have a correct view of. People tend to migrate to seemingly intelligent people. They erroneously follow the wrong people because of missinterpretation. Look at all the churches founded on mistakes. Some just on different practices. It erks me to think how effectively Satan has removed God's name Jehovah from the many printings of his word, the Bible. Even though in it God states through John that anyone altering his word will be punished! Look it up! Old Bibles Psalms 83/18 Jehovah's name, New version...gone. True religon His name carried by who? Isahiah 43;10-12

If you believe in the old testament you must abide by the laws. Matthew said it, not me. Almost everything in the christian religion were made up. Christianity has done away with a lot of things that were made up in the beginning. As time goes on they make more and more changes. There are about 250 different versions of the same religion to such an extent that each one is virtually a separate religion. Whenever enough people that wanted to make a change got together, they made a new sect. Religion is not just reading a bible. There must be rules and regulations. Face facts, the new testament is a book compiled of fairy tales and sweet talk. I have more things to tell you, I'm sure you’d like to hear.
