Galactic Empire vs Covenant?

• Alright my question is who would win in a war, the Galactic Empire from Star Wars or the Covenant from HALO. Assume there is no Rebel Alliance, Zann Consortium, or UNSC to distract either side, and the Great Schism didn't occur where the Elites left the Covenant. It's just a straight up war between the two of them. I believe the Empire would win just because they have millions of ships and the Covenant have thousands of ships. However, my friend pointed out that the Covenant use Elite boarding parties against fleets. Now I believe an Elite boarding party would get shot down before it got near an Imperial Star Destroyer, but I need a better position to argue against my friend with this. Also, assume it 2525 in the HALO universe and say 5 ABY so that the Empire have Death Star 2 which can target frigates and capital ships and reloads every minute or so. Also, Darth Vader has his Executor-class Super Star Destroyer. Emperor Palpatine has his flagship the Eclipse, also a Super Star Destroyer. The Covenant have two Forerunner Dreadnoughts they can use aside from their standard technology. Neither side knows where each others planets are aside from one of each. Also, there are no Sun Crushers! With all of this taken into consideration who would win in a fight Galactic Empire or Covenant. My friend also argues that the Arbiter is stronger than Darth Vader, and that Covenant glassing beams would wreck the Death Star, which I doubt since Death Star 2 withstood the Executor crashing into it. Also, the Covenant have their Supercarriers and all that stuff. Supercarriers are actually longer than Super Star Destroyers. So who would win Empire or Covenant. Please back up your answers with facts to support your decision don't just say Empire or Covenant, support your decision. And no Raptor Jesus is not in this fight so keep him out of it. Also, keep in mind the deciding factor is space combat, not land combat, plus Star Wars: Empire at War shows that Stormtroopers are more than capable of hitting someone, they just had to look bad for the movies even though in "reality" they are as competent as the clones from the prequel if not more so. Don't say that stormtroopers never hit anything because I'm not talking about the way things looked in the movies, but instead about how the stormtroopers acted in Empire at War and in other video games, since HALO is also a video game. Stormtroopers were a competent fighting force that struck terror into civilians across the galaxy and keep in my mind that there were BILLIONS of them. Also, the Covenant in HALO had around a total fleet of, at the most, 50,000 ships in total, whereas the Empire had 25,000 Imperial Star Destroyers alone which are the size of Covenant carriers. Then you also have the fact that this is not a single battle, but a war between two factions that would probably last decades. So who would win? Keep in mind the deciding factor is space combat not land combat. The Super Star Destroyers are the same size as the Covenant SUPER carriers, normal carriers are the size of normal Star Destroyers. The Empire's ships also had shields, and unlike the UNSC, their ships had ion cannons capable of bringing down shields and their bombers were armed with proton torpedoes designed to cut through enemy shielding. Also, the Covenant only had two Forerunner ships in 2552 and if they did get the HALO satellites to work they'd just end up killing themselves by firing them because they believed it would bring them salvation. Also, the Empire has hundreds of thousands of planets under their control where the Covenant only have hundreds or maybe thousands.
