What I do is right my favourite verses down on little pieces of paper and stick them the places I go the most. The fridge, the side tables, the mirror the back of the door as you open one, etc. And everytime I see them, I review them...trust me, its amazing how you start reciting the verses by your self. the best way is to meditate on it. this can be done by reading it slowly (obviously pray before you read it.) See what in there applies to you. some suggest putting yourself in the scenes with our lord. Then one puts the bible down and speaks to Jesus in the particular scene. (like when the boat is being rocked and jesus is sleep.)

Try some of the Beth Moore Bible Studies. She is an awesome lady and all of her bible studies have helped me to understand. Max Lucada also has some good Bible studies. I tried reading the Bible from the front to the back and was so confussed and ended up getting bored because I didn't understand alot of things but with the Bible studies to guide me along, I have since then been able to understand and enjoy the Bible. there is no easy way to study the bible but have a guide book and church doctrine at hand to explain. i am catholic and i use the catechism of the catholic church when i using the bible. they go together.
