    The number 666 is called 'the number of The Beast' in the Book of Revelations in the Christian Bible. The Beast is not necessarily the Devil -- in fact, it is unlikely that they are one and the same. The Beast has a prescribed role in the final days, described in the Bible, as an evil entity in its own right. The number if the Beast is a result of Kabbalistic calculations from the name of someone the author had in mind when writing the book. A great many theories have been advanced as to just who that might have been, depending on when the book is felt to have been written and which numerological system is used. One theory, for example, says it refers to the Roman Emperor, Nero, whose name can be transformed into 666 using a more common form of kabbalistic numerology. Others feel that 666 refers to a name yet to be spoken, or to the reduction of indentities to numbers in modern society. Modern Satanists have come to associate 666 with Satan indirectly, as a sign of their alliegance.

I'll first have to start with the number 7. The #7 represents perfection, so the #6 falls short of that and being that it is 3 times it just proves that Satan isn't perfect. The #7 is often depicted of God-perfect. And you know how much Satan wanted to be higher than God! Well with these #s representing him it just shows that he isn't.

the number 666 actually refers to the antichrist; in revelations there exsits a sort of anti-trinity (satan, the antichrist, and the fals prohpet) 666 refers specifically to the antichrist. Also, in some early manuscipts (most New Testament books were created by many manuscripts each, when a majority of manuscripts agree, they use that word) they actually use the number 619. P.S. there was much fervor in the Nixon administration when people added up the name of Kissinger, and it was 666, he of course was a man in charge of brokering mideast peace at the time

I'm not exactly sure but the number of the best is actually from the Hebrew, where each letter is given a number and the number 6 is the Hebrew for the letter "W" thus the real number of the beast is WWW make of it what you will, I would be very happy of someone could confirm. Anhar Hussain Miah

I guess, why not applying it on years? in about year 666, was the false prophicy of Muhammed of Islam. is it could be this is the number of him? by the way I don't mean to offend you, I just guessing. sorry about that.
