Does the Truth really hurt?
-
Many say the Truth hurts, is this really true in your experience? Many also say the Truth will set you free. Are both true, just one, or neither? Please elaborate! Thank You for answering! Many Blessings!

Answer:
The Truth can be very painful to our ego as we have been justifying lies through our False Personality. False Personality's sense of self importance grounded in arrogance goes through a painful reevaluation of what is true and what is not true. yes. it hurts our hubris very much. as far as the Spirit is concerned... the Holy Spirit rejoices in the truth... and finds it very pleasant. xx

The Ultimate Truth has no association with pain or pleasure as we experience them in this world. However, arriving at union with Truth "seems" to be a painful journey, for everything we know (through ego's misappropriation, obstruction, and diversion) must be deconstructed and cast aside...for they (worldly truth and knowledge) are the very things that have prevented us from realizing our true and original essence. At this level of awareness, the Truth cannot hurt, but, indeed, sets us free from the chains of ego's programming to its agenda (its self-perpetuation). Because worldly truth morphs from person to person (ego to ego), there are tugs of war to assert one's own version...and that version appears to be the only one, according to the individual, entity, or system (i.e., political and religious wars battled from opposing "truths"). Much suffering comes about from these rigid stances. Here, of course, truth hurts oneself and harms others. It is the Ultimate Truth that will free us from these egoic illusionary worldly truths...lighting the way to union with Source and with one another. In Truth is freedom and peace, for there all knowing lies, without division or separation. All That Is is One, complete and whole. Only Truth/Light/Love is... i am Sirius

Truth is always full of peace and joy, it is the misperception of truth or perceiving untruth as truth that causes hurt.

I think the truth does hurt else why so hard for people to change? Then again it may be that the humility needed for accepting the truth is what hurts. I see a difference in "the truth will set you free" and "the truth will make you free". I think the latter is the most painful because it requires self-generation. So yes... and yes.... and yes.... and you are welcome.

Sometimes hon, there are simple truths... and these are easy to accept facing some truths are painful ones... to accept...such as deep deceptions and betrayals. therein lies the pain...ultimately hon, I know that truth is freeing.. Love YOU... Lovingly Kar

Just Be, Truth is not so much something that "is" as something one "does". For truth, like gold, cannot be found in pure form. A lie on the throne is a lie, still, and truth in a dungeon is truth, still; and a lie on the throne is on the way to defeat, and truth in a dungeon is on the way to Victory. Again, truth is something one does rather than something that is. Does truth hurt? No, if it is your truth. Will truth set you free? No, because if you look at truth as something one does, that should be enough.

the truth only hurts those who will not let go of "tradition"

Both are true...depending. I remember times when the Truth caught me by surprise, and I probably could have described that as "pain". Of course, the only reason I was "surprised" was because I'd pushed the Truth away for too long, and I knew it. We all actually KNOW, somewhere within ourselves Sometimes, Freedom can feel overwhelming, but it's still a good thing.

Haha, it doesn't hurt... only your interpretation of it can hurt.
Hahahahaha... ^_^
Truth is Omnipresent. Those who do not wish to acknowledge this, get "hurt" in the realization of that, down the road, when they finally realize the Truth. Truth is True all the time, whether someone recognizes that, or not. The person who doesn't recognize that to be the case, is only resisting what is. Better to acknoweledge the Truth, then go against the natrual flow. Peace and Namaste!
