Does the truth hurt?

When & why does the Truth hurt, if ever?

  • Some say at times the Truth hurts? Is this true? If so, exactly what feels hurt? This is inspired by a dear contacts answer to a previous question. Thank you for answering. Many Blessings!

  • Answer:

Very good question. There is not a living person on this planet, that will not feel a sting when their own misunderstandings are revealed unto them. Letting go of most everything you've ever known to be true about yourself and the culture that made you, does not ensure a continuous flow of bliss, smiles, hugs and compliments. In actuality, there is a certain amount of pain, anger, and even hatred involved during the reconciliation of an individual's personal concept of truth to "The Truth". This can be a road of hard knocks and may require much determination on the part of the seeker. (If it was so easy to do...there would be multitudes of enlightened and ascended persons on the globe.) When "The Truth", is unfolding before you....it's gonna hurt some, hence the majority of us avoid and ignore parts of ourselves for a reason. There is no other way to see the Light, other than to swim through the turmoil of emotions that accompany clarity. Fortunately the hurting is temporary and once embraced....in a flash.... voila it's gone!!! No worries...we're never given more than we can bear. Hey, if you're falling....dive!!!

The truth hurts when you don't want to hear it, or you disagree with it.

((((Just Be)))) First,a bit of clarification...Truth never damages...Emotional response to truth however, may sting at times.. In the book of Proverbs it is said,"Faithful are the Wound of a friend but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy"....Example...Receiving a deserved rebuke from a genuine friend, may hurt for a moment but may also be the very catalyst for causing personal introspection and subsequent positive change...An indifferent, uncaring, ingenuine "friend" or silent enemy, will simply tell you what you want to hear....

When we come to the realization of it as it's revealing areas of our life in need of improvement. That truth cuts to the bone.

To the humble one the truth of life is more like solid footing than it is painfully true. :>) .

For those who do not love the truth it can be painful. The ego does not enjoy being thwarted in any way. But for those who abide in the truth it brings a joy that cannot by known or understood by the worldly person. Namaste'

Truth never hurts, it is only our perception of truth not in tune with it that hurts.

The truth doesn't really hurt. It's our preconceived notions, opinions, and beliefs that can hurt when the truth comes along and knocks them down.

When it contradicts what we believe protects us from perceived dangers, like deprivation or social neglect. :-( It's a tough pill. I hope it's more than a placebo.
