  Climate can increase air pollution in a few ways. One way if called an inversion. Usually hot air moves above colder air. An inversion is warm air mass trapped beneath a cooler one. This causes the air to become stagnant and can trap pollution. This is usually a problem in the morning. When the sun rises it begins to heat the air and the ground. The ground is much more dense than the air and will heat up much faster. The warmed ground also begins to warm the air directly above it while the air above is only receiving heat energy from the sun. I don't know how well I explained that but I'm sure if you go on wikipedia you can find something about inversions. Physical features can contribute to trapping pollution. A valley is an example. Especially if an inversion occurs in the valley. Water pollution includes chemicals that are carried into streams and rivers. Heat from a factory or power plant can also be a form of water pollution. When the factory uses the water as a coolant and then releases heated water back into the environment this can disrupt the ecosystem in the area often resulting in the death of fish and other animals.
