Why dont people care about global warming?

why don't people care about poor and homeless children? why don't people care about animals' extinctions? why don't people care about people get killed everyday? why and why and why....

I think people do care about it.

I think people care but are too lazy and busy to do anything.

it really makes me mad when people say "oh are we really contributing." of course we are! our careless and lazy acts are what are causing the beautiful world to die. people dont realize how this effects not only us but animals too. penguins, polar bears all those animals are dying more and more by the minute. we need to stop global warming before it destroys us, nature and our planet. also we cant always rely on the fact that technology is advancing. i once heard someone say "i smoke. i dont care by the time i get cancer, they will have a cure" are you serious? what if they dont!? and starting life on a new planet or the moon will be very difficult. one more thing. yes we are destroying the earth. once we are wiped out and all the animals, what life will exist? the hole in the ozone layer is also causin a threat too. did u know that in 40 years scientists predict that the hole will be so big that a meteor will penatrat through the hole and destroy all humanity

The don't believe it,they turn there head when they see a homeless person.or kick at a stray dog begging for food. PERSON NEEDS TO LIVE 1 MONTH HOMELESS,NO MONEY OR PLACE TO SLEEP. NO CAR.we ARE ONE OF THE WEALTHIEST CO UN TRY IN THE WORLD,AND OUR HOME LS SLEEP ON THE STREET,WE OUGHT TO B E AS AMEND.

First of all, we aren't destroying the planet. Even if there were a global nuclear war and all humanity were wiped out, the Earth would still be here and life would continue on without us. But that's not really an answer to your question. I think people don't care for one or more of these reasons: 1. People are skeptical. While there is evidence, there is a lot of speculation and many exaggerated and unsupportable claims. Unfortunately, by the time the issue is clear, it might be too late to do anything, or the efforts to reduce global warming might turn out to have been a huge waste of time and energy. 2. People are ignorant. They don't understand what global warming is and what effect it might have on them and their families. 3. People are adaptable. They feel that whatever happens, they can deal with it. 4. People are apathetic. They might care if they thought they could do anything about it.

solving GW isn't the answer to the worlds problems. What about all those people eating dirt for a living. Will you tell all those starving millions that they can't cook there only meal on a charcoal fire because it produces too much CO2? Yer, lets give them all evniro friendly electricity and then charge then the real cost for it.

Honestly many people care, but in many areas of the world people have to focus on mere survival rather than the future of planet earth. If and when it begins to get drastic then many more will do more... You and I make up that percentage of people so all we can do is try to help and then we can make a difference...more people will follow.. Remember it took us many many years to get this way and guess what it will take the same amount of time and patience to get better...Chin up ~

Since Gore lied to me, I don't trust anything he says. To find the truth in anything, you need to study both sides of the argument. Here is an opposing argument. The study -- conducted by climate scientists at the University of Rochester, the University of Alabama, and the University of Virginia -- finds that atmospheric warming patterns, or "fingerprints," over the last 30 years are not caused by greenhouse gas emissions. The report is published in the December issue of the International Journal of Climatology. Results from the study greatly contradict the findings of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Dr. S. Fred Singer, professor emeritus of environmental science at the University of Virginia -- and president of the Science and Environmental Policy Project -- says he is "fairly" sure that the current warming trend is due to changes in the activities of the sun. "The sun is constantly active, emitting particle streams that carry magnetic fields; and they in turn have an influence on the climate of the earth," he says. Singer says he and other global warming skeptics have grown accustomed to claims that they are beholden to the oil and gas industry. "Of course that's not only untrue, but it's completely immaterial," says Singer. "In other words, we are using the data that is furnished by the IPCC. They are published, we use only published work. What we are basically doing is to make a comparison of model results and observations." The report concludes that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant and therefore "attempts to control CO2 emissions are ineffective and pointless -- but very costly."
