Can you tell me of your experience in an earthquake?

Have you ever experienced earthquake???

  • Hi, I live in Taiyuan,China.Today,we experience a small but terrible earthquake in my hometown . However, in Si Chuan province there is a powerful earthquake having killed thounds of my compatriots. At first,I feel dizzy then I see lamps shaking. Suddenly I recognize this is earthquake~~~So rush out of my apartment with slipper and bedgown…!!! Tell me your experience about earthquakes and some suggestion.Thanks

    i'm in California (USA) & have experienced a bad earthquake - 1994. The aftershocks made me dizzy as well. It was traumatic for me & my daughter (3yrs) as she was trapped in her room. When I finally got her out, I ran over glass with bare feet while my 3 story townhouse was still shaking & I was running in complete darkness down stairs while hearing the walls around me crumbling down & when I finally got out the front door the sliding glass door exploaded & we were covered in glass, but suffered NO injuries - amazingly enough. It is upsetting for me to even type this out, so I hope you are doing ok. <hugs> to you...

I live in ENGLAND and i've felt an earthquake...that was pretty rare...it was all over the news. It was about 1am, and i woke up and my bed was shaking and hitting the wall. I didn't actually get up or anything though, and earth quake was the last thing i'd think of, i though it was someone having sex in the next room :S

Sorry, this is not an answer. I hope all is well with you and your friends and family. We will be traveling to Taiyuan, China in about 10 days for the BMX World Championships was there much damage from the quake in your city?
