What is the Difference Between Fermentation and Photosynthesis?

What is the difference between photosynthesis and respiration?

  • Answer:

To put it simply, they're opposites. Respiration consumes glucose and oxygen and releases energy and carbon dioxide. Photosynthesis uses sunlight (i.e. energy) and consumes carbon dioxide and produces oxygen and glucose (i.e. stored energy). In other words, photosynthesis is the process of storing energy and respiration is the process of releasing that energy.
