How and why are the wonders of the world selected?

Why there are only 7 wonders in the world when the world is full of wonders!?

  • Is there any scientific, historical reason to select 7 wonders or it's just a measurement to find top 7?

  • Answer:

The 7 Wonders come from Herodetus, who suggested travelers visit the 7 sites he found to be very wondrous. These are called the 7 wonders of the ancient world. These were sites that he considered important to any traveller going through the eastern Mediterranean some 2000 years ago The sites he listed are: The Pharos of Alexandria The Colossus at Rhodes The statue of Zeus at Olympus The Hanging Gardens of Babylon The Pyramids at Giza The Temple of Artemis in Ephussis and the Mausolem of Halicarnassus More recently people have wanted to list the 7 modern wonders (as 6 of the 7 ancient wonders have been destroyed) for travelers to see. A few years ago there was an online poll suggesting the 7 wonders The 7 modern wonders are the Great Wall of China Petra in Jordan The Pyramids of Giza (the only one to be on the same list ans the 7 ancient wonders) Christ the Redeemer in Brazil Macchu Pichu The Taj Mahal Chitzen Itza in Mexico (more pyramids) there are also 7 winders of the natural world and other 7 wonders lists as well
