Idiotic. I can't say any more, except the first answer was even worse. Why would that person say 1000 years? You see, people just make things up, and all this 2012 stuff is like a fungus that has infected the internet and the minds of mostly young, impressionable people. There's always been calamities. There seems to be more because we have the news at our fingertips now. Also, with 7 billion people on Earth now, any calamity affects more people. I am not an ardent Christian, but JC said some pretty smart things. One of them was about being aware of false prophets. Today that is so much more apt, with false prophets all over the internet and the media.

Not necessarily in 2012, although I wouldn't be surprised if it did, but soon. Also the real end of the world won't happen for at least 1000 years but the end of the world as we know it is coming, and a lot of people are going to die. You've got to think about where you are spiritually.
