  Many arguements you can use on that one -- greenhouse gasses, global warming, etc. But I prefer the cautionary tale of "everything has a price" -- a little more creative though it can start more arguments as well depending on the teacher. The 1st attached site talks about the environmental impacts of wind energy. The 2nd talks about offshore wind energy systems creating artificial environments in the ocean (specifically reefs where reefs would not otherwise be). The 3rd is the impact of a TN windfarm on bat mortality. You can research similarly dam impact on fish and water flow patterns. Nuclear power should be easy, potentially catestrophic accidents. Geothermal power -- can't think of many bad effects there, but surely there are some, etc.
