Curious if regulars in this section use alot of math in their work?

I'm in engineering, and I use math every day in my work. I like my job and the income. I don't like some of the traveling, which is required at times. It's really nice to go to Hawaii, but I don't like being sent to Colorado in the dead of winter to figure out what is wrong with a malfunctioning ski-lift design. My best friend has a master's degree in statistics, and she had two job offers before she even graduated. I answer questions in my spare time, but I am not on here every day. It's more of idle curiosity, looking for something interesting to do online.

I have owned an engineering business for a long time, and yes my work involves a great deal of math. I love my job. I have medical issues, so that has put limits on how much time I can actually work. I am on this section as a diversion, pastime, escape. Good luck with your career ideas. I don't think you can go wrong with a good background in math.

Yes, but I've found that we rely alot on computer programs. There still has to be an understanding of what is going on to be able to do my job, which involves architecture and design, troubleshooting, brainstorming. Some of my spare time is on Yahoo, but not much compared to my work and hobbies.
