How do i solve this equation?
-
Sorry, i asked same question about 15 minutes ago, but i forgot the equation. Show me step by step to solve it. 1st get the variables on one side of the equation. Next simplify each side of the equation What real number property must you use to do this it? Simplify each side of the equation by combining like terms. Finally, how do you isolate the variable? Use a complete sentence in your answer. Heres the equation 200+30x=40x

Answer:
200 + 30x = 40x 1st...to get the variables on one side of the equation you subtract 30x from both sides... 200 + 30x - 30x = 40x - 30x Next...simplify each side: 200 = 10x (how did I get this?? on the left side of the equation when you subtract 30x from a positive 30x, you eliminate it +30x - 30x = 0 200 + 0 = 200 on the right side 40x - 30x = 10x (should be pretty clear) Isolate the variable. The variable is "x" (because the value of "x" varies depending on the equation)...so...back to our equation: 200 = 10x (10x is the same as 10 times "x"....so....to determine the value of "x" we have to "isolate" it...which means...we want to know the value of 1x. 1x is the same as x. SO....we divide both sides by 10) 200 / 10 = 10x / 10 20 = x NOW you want to check that this is correct....so, wherever you see an "x" substitute the known value of "x" now...which is "20". 200 + 30x = 40x 200 + 30 (times 20) = 40 (times 20) 200 + 600 = 800 800 = 800 This proves our value of x = 20 is correct! first, you subtract 30x from both sides of the equations(to cancel it out) so it becomes: 200=10x then you divide 200 by 10(to isolate the x) so it becomes: x=20

First, you would minus 30x from both sides of the equation. You'll end up with 200 = 10x. Then you divide each side by 10. Thus, your solution will be x = 20.

Just remember... 200 will always be the numeral digit The 30x will be primary oddity and 40 will times the 30x under only primitive circumstances. good Luck! :)

here's a question for you:why ask this question if you forgot the problem?huh?
chocolate drop
200+30x=40x -30x -30x 200=10x 10x/200=10x/10x 20=x

200=40x-30x 200=20x x=10 plz vote as best answer:)

ok subtract 30x from both sides then you have 200=10x then you divide by 10 both sides and you get x=20
