What is a mathematician?

What's the most important tool for a mathematician?

  • The pen? The pencil? The calculator? The binders? or as a mathematician said... the stapler? Assume that we exclude the computer.

  • Answer:

Chalk. Math was not meant to be done on paper, but on the chalk board. It's great when you have it in your hand and you have a work surface that is so huge. I love it.

The pen and notebook with graphing paper pages (the one with grids)... we need to write and compile all our work... it's easy to lose anything if you use loose sheets... anything else just simplify or automate...
