How to perform this matrix integral?

How do I perform the sequence of row operations on the following matrix?

  • 1 2 3 2 -1 -4 3 1 -1 -2 x row 1 +row 2 -3 x row 1 + row 3 -row 2 + row 3 (-1/5) x row 2 -2 x row 2 + row 1

  • Answer:

I will do the first one for you. I am not sure if you are supposed to find the result of the row operation or if you are expected to come up with a vector to multiply the matrix to perform the operation. I will do both. To get -2 x row 1 + row 2, you could multiply the vector (-2, 0, 1) by the matrix. The result of the operation is -2(1,2,3) + (2,-1,-4) = (-2,-4,-6) + (2,-1,-4) = (0,-5,-10)
