What is the moon slowly receding from us and by how much each year?

Hi, My 27th bday falls on a full moon next year, and its going to be my 2nd full moon bday. Any fun trivias?

  • I dont remember much during my first full moon birthday cause i was only 8 y.o., But there are good and bad things that happened during that year: 1. That was probably around the time my younger sister had a terrible nearly fatal accident and i was there to witness it, but i dont remember most of that incident also, i think im subconsciously trying to block it from my memory. And, 2. That was also the time my dad gave me the one thing i really really really wanted in the whole wide world as a birthday present- A horse :) Any trivias?

  • Answer:

As it turns out, the Sun-Moon-Earth relationship repeats itself for a particular day every 19 years, so it makes perfect sense that you had a full moon on your birthday when you turned 8 and again when you turn 27. The next time this will happen will be when you turn 46, then again when you turn 65, and so on. So as interesting as it might be, it's really part of a very predictable pattern. Don't let it freak you out, by the way. The phase of the Moon on your birthday has absolutely zilch to do with what kind of a year you'll have. I hope that helps. Good luck!
