Why some people believe the moon landing is a fake?

Teenagers and younger people need to feel that they have some control over the world. Completely normal, at an age when they haven't developed the mental faculty to be critical and weigh up arguments. This is why, when I was young, I thought there was going to be an exact alignment of planets in early 1982 and that there'd be disasters because of it. When someone in my class brought up the possibility that the ancient Egyptians had been assisted in their technology by extraterrestrials, some of us latched onto it. After all, the Egyptians were ahead of their time, weren't they? It seemed intelligent to believe it. We weren't stupid, it was just our way of being more knowing and intelligent. What I can't understand is why some people never grow out of it. I believe that very few people actually think it was a hoax. I believe it's just their way of appearing intelligent, by taking up a minority position and going against the flow. The trouble for them is, they don't realise that it's the one matter in history about which there's no possible debate. If they'd take up arguing, for example, that global warming is not man-made, they'd be unpopular, but at least it's something that's still able to be discussed.

Because they believe everything they read and fail to do their own research on the matter.

Some people just like conspiracies! And it can be difficult to convince people of the evidence that we have landed on the moon because they don;t have enough science education to get the arguments, and they have a soundbite mentality, which means you cannot explain it all to them fast enough (I mean that you have to explain the underlying science first and then how it fits in to the evidence)

Just because i believe the moon landing didn't happen DOES NOT make me stupid. 1: The flag thing. 2: The cross airs in the photos are BEHIND the images taken. Any normal camera would put the cross on top of the image. 3: Video footage said to be from two different places on the moon was super-imposed on top of each other and the horizon was EXACTLY the same. I no coincidences happen. But not like that. There's no proof either way. I don't believe in God either, as there's no proof. But i could be wrong on both counts. But our personal beliefs do not make us stupid. We have the freedom of choice. That's what its there for.

Those non believers are just looking for theit 15 mins of fame anyway they can get it

People like conspiracies. A guy wrote some arguments that sound convincing but really only represented his ignorance of photography, optics, vacuums and several other areas of physics. All his arguments were technically beyond the understanding of most people but were explained by experts.

It's always interesting to see how those people try to explain why there are mirrors on the moon. ;P

because when it was filmed the flag was flapping and moving about 'in the wind'. which is impossible.
