Why many people not believe in moon landing?

Many people fall for the "I don't understand how it could have been done, therefore it couldn't have been done" fallacy. The same people who think that the US government is omnipotent enough to capture and imprison alien beings from halfway across the Universe are the same ones who think that the same government was so incompetent they had to fake a moon mission. Sad, really.

Well the majority of the people who don't believe the Moon landings happened are just ignorant. Notice I said landingS, plural. You know there were 6 manned Moon landings right, not just one? And all were very well documented. But these ignorant types typically hear some idiot spouting off something like the astronauts couldn't have survived the radiation in the van allen belt and just say, "Well gee, OK". They never bother to do some research and find out that the missions were launched on a certain trajectory specifically to limit their exposure to the van allen belt and only were in the belt for a couple of hours (total, coming and going) and were exposed to about as much solar radiation in those few hours as you experience on the surface of the Earth in 2 years. Hardly fatal.... Or they hear idiots saying that the flag they planted was waving "proving" that it was in air. Again they just say "Duh....OK if you say so" and don't learn that there was a pole on the flag to keep it extended. And it moved around so much while it was being planted because it WAS in a vacuum, not in air. So no friction from air to stop it from moving around once the motion was imparted on it. These are the same kinds of people who get those BS emails claiming things like rubbing egg whites on a 3rd degree burn will heal it and forward it around to everyone they know without bothering to learn that it's not true. Others don't believe in the landings because they have certain mental disorders. Some have some kind of a "need" to find conspiracies everywhere they look. They're just insanely paranoid and think everyone else is trying to fool them into believing things. Or it makes them feel somehow special thinking that they've "learned the truth" and everyone else is just being fooled. The technical term for those kinds of people is "crazy".

The reason many people don't believe it is because they did not live through it. Ask anyone who was alive in 1969, even if they were only a baby at that time, and they will tell you that it really did happen.

We, and much of the rest of the world, track Russian space missions in order to keep them honest in much the same way they track our missions in to space, to keep us honest. If the Russians attempt to pull a hoax operation, do you think the rest of the world would let them get away with it? Not a chance. It is exactly the same with the Apollo missions to the Moon. The Russians would have loved for us to have tried to fake something on the scale of a Moon mission (six of them). Our collective credibility would have been completely destroyed with zero possibility for recovery, ever. It would not have been worth the risk, in my opinion. Additionally, the Moon missions were broadcast to TV networks all over the country and world. Don't you think that broadcast engineers would know if their signal feed was coming from somewhere on Earth as opposed to the Moon? Get real!

Because by not believing in something that clever people believe in, they think it makes them seem super sceptical and even more clever than the clever people. In fact it makes them look like dickz.
