Who build the Worm Tunnels or the DNA Helix galaxy (in case their existance can be tested)?
-
I was reading Contact, and in his novel Carl Sagan express that maybe the Worm Tunnels were build by a Galaxy Wide civilization. Do you think that worm tunnels can be a construction of a higher civilization that have achieve galactic enginnering? I ask this because a few weeks ago I read in the news about a Galaxy that has been detected and it has the shape of a DNA Helix, well maybe that is the way we see it, but if a civilization wanted to leave a probe of its existance in the very fabric in the universe, shouldn´t the moulding of a galaxy would be a subtle and filling of awe, promise?

Answer:
Worm holes are hypothetical, there is no evidence they exits. And it is the "Double Helix Nebula" not galaxy. It is called that because it resembles a double helix, of which our DNA is an example. However, this nebula is only gas distorted by magnetic fields, and has no connection to human, or any other kind of, DNA. ~Erthona

It's possible, I suppose. But then you could just as easily say that the DNA in our own bodies is clearly the result of construction by a highly developed civilization who liked to play around with life, given the high improbability that just the right chemicals came together in just the right way to produce a DNA-based lifeform. This is, naturally, the basis for the intelligent design camp, and you bring up a good point that belies their entire argument -- namely that even assuming we were designed, it doesn't mean we were designed by their Christian God.

this is pure nonsense. you go nature tripping and you find a shell shaped like the statue of liberty, do you conclude that there's intelligent life in the ocean thats trying to tell us something? if ultra intelligent beings do really exist out there then they would have made contact to us a long time ago. similarly, if time travel is indeed possible then we should have already met our future grand children and invited then over lunch.

Someone mentioned C Sagan. Remebered a comment he made in his show. There is a crab in Japan that has the distinct features of a Samuri swordsman on its back, and this is absolutely true. Today you can occassionally find that crab out there. The local fishermen will NEVER keep it to eat, they always toss them back. tada! ... natural selection. oh yeah, my answer had nothing to do with your question - lol I suppose if a civilization wanted to leave a trace of its existence, there must be simpler ways. Maybe take a quasar and have it emit in primes?? Send an email?
