What was the point in Paranormal Activity 3?

Ok so I just finished watching paranormal activity 3 and i just sat there and thought to myself What The Hell Just Happened? It says Discover how the activity began and don't get me wrong the film was great, but the activity had already begun there's no origin story to it is there? So some how Grans involved, but how? And where the heck did "Toby" come from? Please answer this, because im lost here!

There is no point. It's just another movie that sucks and the directors are to lazy to make a story line

Ok lets see if i can remember haha. Well its just what happened before Paranormal Activity 1 and 2. Its why everything happened in PA 1 & 2. The grandma has always been involved in that. And she got Kristi and Katie in it to. Kristi and Katie promised the demon (Toby) their first male born child which results in PA 2 resulting the taking of Kristi's baby. Its just how the demon started terrorizing them. Srry if i dont give more info. I cant remember clearly i would have to see it again
