Windows Movie Maker to Mac?

I need to make a movie trailer for school. I have Windows Movie Maker on my laptop, but all the computers at school are Macs. If I upload a movie from Movie Maker to a flash drive, will it open on my teacher's Mac?

export the movie to a format like .mov or .mp4 that macs can play... a MM project will NOT open on mac..
