Who hates it when Star Wars fanboys insult Star Trek? (as in TOO MUCH)?

  • I'm a big fan of both, but I'm a bigger fan of Star Trek. Recently, I've been reading stupid comments saying "f u Trekkies" and even worst... I've noticed Star Trek fans seem to be smarter with science-fictions (no offence Star Wars), but Star Wars is more of both fantasy and sci-fi combined. I know not all of the Star Wars fans are like this, but when some of them compare to Star Trek, they can't even compare without throwing out an insult againt Star Trek. Feel free to give your opinions on both, thanks. :) AND NO HATE ANSWERS

    Hey, nice question. Star for you :) I do agree that Star Wars fanboys keep insulting Star Trekkies (some of em). I, no offense, don't really like Star Trek. In fact, the Star Wars Original Trilogy are my favorite movies, and I think nothing can beat it. I think the reason that the fanboys keep insulting eachother is that they think they know "more" or they think they're "cooler" than the other. Very immature. I'm not obsessed with Star Wars, but I do love the classic films (hated the prequels). I think they're a visual feast for the eyes and the imagination. I love the idea of a movie opening a whole new sci-fi fantasty world. The story's a classic, and the characters are iconic and memorable. But I still like Star Trek just a little. My parents are HUGE Trekkies and I did watch the new film which was MUCH better than the Star Wars prequels but not as good as the SW classics. Okay, I'm getting off topic, but the point is, just ignore those CERTAIN SW fanboys, and I'll ignore those CERTAIN Trekkies.

I think you're absolutely right, I'm a bigger fan of Star Wars though. But Star Wars's technology is far more superior than Star Trek. But people just can't pick up the plots and morals from Star Trek, since it has much less violence in it. My opinion is: Star Wars- better trilogy, far more superior in technology Star Trek- better plots and characters But I don't know why we would insult Star Trek so much?

You're absolutely right, sometimes fans of Star Wars are insulting and even ugly to Trek lovers. However, I've noticed that the opposite is also true on occasion. Personally, I love both, though I have to say I love Star Trek best. Honestly though, the two are equally unique and enjoyable, and just because someone prefers one over another doesn't mean that they are wrong or stupid or deserve to be called bad names.

This is odd, but can I recommend you watch the movie Fan Boys? It is a recent comedy, very funny. And it deals with the trek/star wars epic fight. I never see it in real life though, Star Trek's new movie has made it more appealing to the mainstream populace, so they wouldn't insult it.
