How to write a film review?

• I'm trying to write a film review and I really don't know how. I've read a few examples, and a few articles on "how to write a film review," but I'm stuck.. I'm not even sure of what movie to write on. I was thinking about writing on either "The Blindside." Any ideas, either specific to "The Blindside," or just writing a film review in general?

In order to write a review for this film (or any film for this matter) is to really focus on what the article will be about. Yes, you are writing about The Blind Side, but what message are you trying to get across to the reader? Are you praising or complaining about the film? Are you discussing the film as a whole or are you wanting your primary focus to be on a specific aspect of the film itself? Once you have answered the above questions, think of a title that explains what the review will be about in a creative manner. If you have an interesting title, the reader will be interested in reading your review. The next step is to give a brief synopsis of the movie. Tell what the movie is about and what happens during the film. Avoid giving your opinion while explaining the plot because you don't want to explain everything at the beginning of the review. You want the reader to continue on reading the article. If you give away too much, they will most likely not continue reading. After you tell the plot of the film, you may start your analysis. Make sure include specific opinions of the film. Whatever you are wishing to stress in the review must be stated in a clear and effective manner. Include specific details of the movie along with how they made you feel. Remember, you are trying to convince the reader whether or not to see this movie, based on your own opinions. You may also want to give special attention to the characters in the film. What stood out about them? Were they casted well into their roles? What made you have your opinions about them?
