What makes a film stand out among the rest for you? Is it excellent directing? Acting? Screenplay?

All of these and what it is about. It's about the message. I like end time Christian movies the best about Jesus.

Oh geez. All of them, even the filming itself - camera work, I guess. Of course, I'm also a big fan of animation. Seems some of the best movies in the past 5 years or so have been animated, in my opinion.

A good script with good acting attached. When Christopher Waltz was onscreen in Inglorious Basterds, you knew right there that he deserved an Oscar. And the fact that he was working with a good script just added to the whole atmosphere.

if something is missing we will feel awkward watching the movie, so everything is important in the movie

The acting, the writing, and the actual dialect make films stand out to me. And also really beautifully well done CGI movies, for instance Lovely Bones and The Fall are beautiful.

Well, it varies umong genres, like i want a comedy to be funny and i want action movies to have lots of kool and unique action however, in general, ilike the movie to look realistic (things that really look fake take away the immersivness in a movie i think), interesting characters and a good storylin Like Rock N Roller, the majority of the movie was ok, enjoyable but what made me want to buy that on DVD was the character Johnny Quid...HE WAS AMAZING! and im also a big fan of those movies where all the characters are interelated somehow

It depends. Usually, the best movies incorporate all three, and other elements like good visuals and things like that. But if you don't have a good screenplay, the greatest director or actors can't do much to save it.
