If you could be a star who would you be?

Who is your favorite motion picture star from the past?

  • By past I mean from 30 years ago or more. And, while some stars who made movies that long ago, like Harrison Ford, are still making them, I would prefer to narrow this to stars who are either deceased or retired. My own favorite male star is Gregory Peck. He made many great movies but only earned one Academy Award, for "To Kill a Mockingbird." Others might choose John Wayne, Clark Gable, William Holden, Jimmy Stewart, or others. (I like all of these, just liked Gregory Peck better.) The female star is a little harder to categorize. For me it is probably between Grace Kelly and Angie Dickinson, but there are several others, such as Nancy Kwan, Sophia Loren and Gina Lollabrigida, who come to mind. Who lit up your silver screen in days of yore?

Cary Grant Liz Taylor Paul Newman-Cat On a Hot Tin Roof Judy Garland-James Mason- A Star is Born and all Judy's flicks Rock Hudson-Doris Day Anthony Quinn Tyrone Power-Ava Gardner John Garfield-Lana Turner Clark Gable-Burt Lancaster Anthony Hopkins- Richard Burton and on and on and on.

I love the old ones also I just finished watching an old movie with James Stuart its called You can't Take it with You it was wonderful . I love James Stuart and Gregory Peck he reminds me of my dad. One of my favorites with Gregory peck is to Kill a Mocking Bird

Henry Fonda. Young Mr. Lincoln, The Grapes of Wrath, The Ox-Bow Incident, My Darling Clementine, 12 Angry Men, Once Upon a Time in the West, On Golden Pond. Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen a bad Henry Fonda movie.

I have to agree on Gregory Peck. One of my favorite movies is "Twelve O'clock High". Others include: Humphrey Bogart William Holden Ray Milland Jack Lemmon And many more. How about Bette Davis? Katherine Hepburn Natalie Wood Myrna Loy Yeah I am an old classic movie fan.
