Are children who act in rated 'R' movies allowed to see them?

  • Answer:

Legally, they are not allowed to. One account that I read some time ago (I can't find the source now unfortunately) but it was remarking on the fact that Haley Joel Osment was nominated for an Oscar for a film he officially had not seen nor was he allowed to see for many years to come. It suggested of course, that he had watched it under the careful supervision of his parents...

It's up to their parents. Interesting question though. I wonder if Linda Blair saw The Exorcist as a child.

I think the same rule applies. Only if they're accompanied by a parent or adult.

wow good question, I guess so since there are a lot of children in some of them.

Technically, no. Though I'm sure they get to see the daily rushes of scenes they've been in.

i read on wiki that the sometimes the children don't even know that they are in e.g. a horror movie. All the special effects to make it scary are added later
