Is there any film school online?

If im interested in the film industry and going into film school, where should i start?

• i really want to go to film school (possibly nyu or a uc school in california) cuz ive always found it to be interesting. i have all A's, a 4.0 and am ranked 74 in my class (above average), im pretty involved in theatre and shakespeare shows at school. so i feel like i have a good chance of getting into a good school, but i know that film school is REALLY competitive and im trying to be realistic about my chances of getting in. im signing up for a photography and video course at my high school, but is there anything else you would reccomend i do to better my chances or getting into a filmschool or to improve my skills in this field. any advice is really appreciated! thank you

  You can be a filmmaker whether or not you go to film school. I am not completely against film school if you have the money and desire to go to school. Like the first answer stated, you can get in at the bottom at a production company and learn more working than you may learn in school. If my kids want to be filmmakers I am going to suggest another route rather than school. Don't sweat the school too much. I can see that you are a good student and may love school and in that case film school would be good for you. I was a good student but despised being in school so I made my career without school. You can decide that in time. You seem to be doing well already.
