How do you write a good resume?

How do you write a resume, if your straight out of High School and have no work experiance, nor good qualities

  • I just graduated high school, I need to know how to write a job resume in order for me to get a job anywhere. I have no work experiance, no specialties, no nothing. How am i suppose to write a resume with nothing like that? Can anyone show me an example, or something like that? Whats a professional headline? or a personal statement? whats a core competencies?

  • Answer:

The personal statemnet should be about you and what you offer - keep it brief. Competencies are things you can do (skills that are transferable so you might be asked of a time you contributed to a team goal. On a serious note you should get someone to check your spelling and grammar as the resume is your first impression - don't mix up your with you're and use spell check. Remember nobody will expect you to be the finished article - you're too young. They're looking for someone who shows a good attitude and who makes the effort to show this in the resume. Concentrate on the statement and think about what you have done that might mean you should be employed (get on with people, quick learner, good timekeeping, show initiative) and think of examples of when you've done this if it's possible. Good luck.

Most people looking for their first job generally go for the positions that only require company given applications be submitted. No need to write a resume until you are confident that you have something to put on it.

I'm not sure how professional these are, but MS Word has a resume wizard. But like I said, I don't know if they're really that good.
