Can i transfer from a nyc high school with 25 credits and keep all my credits in a high school in long island?

i have 25 credits and i need 40 to graduate in my nyc high school , if i transfer to a school in long island ill only need 20 to graduate , could that work for me ? please let me know

Answer:
Part of the problem is that schools count credits differently. Also there are not just total number of credits required but they must be in certain groups. There are also requirements about passing required tests for graduation. Many schools have residency requirements. It will not work for you./
