What are the best schools for kindergarten in Philly?

How culturally diverse are schools in Japan (especially kindergarten)?

  • Hi i wanted to ask if anyone knows how culturally diverse they are? i need to know for my work! statistics would be great! or if anyone has any personal experience of being in schools in japan. Thank you!

  • Answer:

First of all, the country itself doesn't have cultural diversities as much as the u.s. They are in a mono-racial state. The largest minority is the Korean people brought and forced to work during the WWII. Their families still remain and their population is 598,687 in 2005. The popultion of the total registered foreigners is 1,915,030 and the entire Japanese population is 127,463,611. So only 1.5% is not Japansese. Accordingly the education, informaiton throgh the mass-media are also well unified and except dialects, food, or climate, most of them share the very similar life style. I grew up in Japan. I felt the school after 6th grade was like military. It is well diciplined. It is about 15 years ago, from my experience, sometimes teachers beated up students to teach their rules. There was almost no freedom there except studying. Most public school were like this. I hope the things have been chagned already because I don't know what's going on right now overthere. If your kids go to private school for foreigners then, it won't happen, I think.

my boyfriends cousins used to go to school in japan, as their dad worked out there for 3 years. i was suprised to hear they actually went to a completely english speaking school, even more suprised to hear they are quite common over there...!! unfortunately, i can't help you with more than that, other than english speaking schools are in japan....

Japan is not known for it's cultural diversity.. quite the opposite! I'd be surprised if they were anything other that 100% Japanese.
