Is Florida Virtual School a good program?

  • Okay, I just signed up for Florda Virtual School online just so that I could take some extra classes and just becaause. I already picked my classes and stuff yesterday, but I wanted to know, is Florida Virtual School a good program? Is it harder than regular school? Is it hard to balance with regular school, because I'm taking both. Just info about the programm would be nice.

    I took a few classes while in regular school to graduate early. The classes are at the same level as regular school. I did like that they offered classes that my school didn't. The only thing is that YOU have to make sure you do the work. The hardest part was setting some time apart to do the work. Make a schedule for yourself that you'll work 4-5pm or whatever everyday. A teacher will call you every month or so for a check up and talk with you and a parent about your progress. Some classes require oral exams and you'll get a call every week and have to answer questions on the spot, easy stuff, I think it's to make sure you don't cheat and are actually learning stuff. I love that you can work at your own pace, you pick a pace, fast, regular, slow and are nagged by your teacher based on that. I worked ahead to get a lot of it done quickly. You also get like a week of vacation were you don't have to turn in work. What's really important is that the teacher doesn't get paid until you finish, so they are all up for helping you. They should respond to any email/phone call within 24 hr, if they don't you need to *****.

well yes and no. the reason i said yes- you can do the class at the comfort of your own house , while taking test you could use your notes and it maes it easy. you can also summit work as many times as you want for a better grade which is awesome the reason i said no- i thought you could do the work at your own pace but you have to do class everyday... ,also they call your parents every month to tell them how your doing rather than getting report cards, so that could be good or bad, if you dont like summit work in like a week they will drop you THIS IS MY EXPERENCE YOUR COULD DIFFER HOPE THIS HELPS . WHY AM I WRITING LIKE THIS ???
