Whats best for high school? Binders, folders or an expandable file?
-
lol sorry if this is a dumb question, but in middle school they made us use binders and i really didn't like it. I had 3 small binders and i don't know i just didn't like it. Even with the dividers it always looked messy. We aren't allowed to carry bags or totes in my school so what is best?

Well, I think you'll do best with binders. I use to hate them too but when I started using them, i started to like them. I think they're the best But i don't think you should have three binders. Just one with big three rings to hold a lot of paper for different classes. Always carry around extra paper. Also, get the kind of paper that has that hard plastic around the hole so it wont brake so easy. Make sure the binder also has those little pockets so you can place pens, pencils, makers and highlighters. That will become very useful. You don't want to carry around pens in your pants so because you move a lot from room to room. The pen will probably leak ink and ruin the pants, shorts, etc..

I suggest a multi-subject notebook. I use the five subject notebook from Five Star. I like it because it's just a notebook so it takes up less space than a binder, so you can still see other things on your desk. And it has dividers every 100+ pages so it's organized like a binder. Plus, the dividers have pockets, like folders. It's very convenient. You can buy them at Wal-mart and Target and stores like that.

I'm with you, I'm not a fan of binders, but some classes require them. You'll find that each class is different in work load and the amount of papers that you will get. For the classes that I had more handouts and worksheets, I found that a binder was better because dividers made everything a little more organized and they hold more stuff. However, if a class is not too intense with papers, I would definitely suggest folders, simply because they are easier to carry. I used folders for every class, even ones I had binders for, because I would take home any homework I had in the folders so I didn't have to carry the binder home. I hope this helps. You'll might find that something else works better for you though. I had friends in high school that only used binders. It's really just a personal preference. Good luck!

I like using one folder for homework or papers that I am going to be using that specific day. I use one folder for the class that I take a lot of notes in. And I use an expandable file for everything else. They have plenty of pockets and it's easy to organize your papers, on top of that your backpack looks clean and neat all the time. I agree about binders I don't enjoy carrying them around in my backpack it just isn't as simple to grab your papers, and the rings always get unaligned. I hate it.

Accordion file. It's like a binder and folders in one, but better. They hold a ton, don't take up much room, and it costs less to buy one than a bunch of binders.

I've always used binders. Everybody I know did.

i start with folders but sometimes some teachers require you to have a binder specifically for their class, so you'll find out what you need for sure on the first day
freshmen its your choice, teachers dont care or pick out individuals to check their supplies...as long as you fo your work they wont care -folders are easily lost btw, i use binders

I recommend the expandable file.

Folders because they are smaller but binders last longer.
